A small eco-responsible backpack

Aja is a small, eco-responsible backpack made from hemp fabric.

Hemp is the most ecological natural textile fiber in the world because its cultivation and processing do not require any chemical treatment and very little water. A healthy fabric for our environment but also for our skin. Its “W” weave brings greater strength to a fiber already 8 times more resistant than that of cotton.

Upcycled materials

The upcycled materials making up Aja’s lining are used rice bags and old Nepalese clothes, called saris. These are raw materials intended to be thrown in the trash, which we revalue in order to give them a second life . An ecological approach that avoids the creation and destruction of a material that can still be used.

Rice bags provide rigidity and impermeability . Saris provide elegance and attention to detail .

Vegetable dyes

We dye all of our hemp 100% plant-based . Ingredients and mordants vary by color.

For the Ecru shade, no coloring is done. It is the raw color of the hemp , after a few rinses. The more we clean the hemp (in water), the lighter it will be. The ecru color can therefore vary slightly from one bag to another.

Pockets & Closures

This small backpack has a main compartment with a small interior pocket, an exterior pocket on the front and a small pocket on the back for your secret things. The YKK metal zippers are known for their strength and durability. They also add finesse to the design.

The shoulder straps and back of the bag are padded for added comfort .
